The Hogle Zoo with cousins!

Bre, Landon and Savanah came to Utah to visit and while they were here we went to the zoo along with Diana, Gracie, Ryan, Tina, Paisley and Ty.  The kids had a great time.  Right when we got there and headed down the hill the kids saw a zoo keeper holding a snake and Payton went straight for it.  If I remember correctly Jayden, Madyson, Payton and savanah were the only ones who were brave enough to actually touch the snake!  We went on the carousel, watched the bird show (one of the bird landed right in front of us and just walked along the ground, it was so cool) and had a picnic lunch.  We got to see the baby elephant and the brand new little monkeys, which were adorable too.

They had a zoorasic theme going on at the zoo this summer so they had dinosaurs all over that were animated.  And one of them squirted water at the kids and they loved it!

The kids all "rode" the wooden horses

The big elephant squirts water when it sneezes and Jayden wanted to stand right in front of it and it blew water right in his face.  He of course freaked out and I of courses was laughing!

These cousins love each other so much and miss each other, we can't wait until they visit again!

Horse back riding

James has a friend that lives down the road a little that had horses and Madyson loved the idea of riding a Pony.  When we got there and he brought out the horse she said "wow that's a big horse", she was a little scared but after seeing Payton practically run right up and wanting to get on it right away she took a turn and loved it.  Payton wanted to ride the horse forever but he needed to give everyone a turn, even me!  I don;t believe I have ever ridden a horse before and I really liked it.  The kids looked so cute and asked about when we were going to go back to see the horsey!

Sledding

I forgot that we went sledding at some point in time, maybe January?  I took Jayden and Madyson and drove towards Huntsville with the Lingwalls, Bates and Gills.  Jayden had a ton of fun and Madyson hated every minute of it.  She was frozen and didn't like sledding at all.  We only stayed for 2 hours which was enough for Madyson and not enough time for Jayden.

Let's hope we are done with snow for awhile!!

It's about time....

I guess after over three months of not updating my blog it's about time.  Not sure how many people actually look at this but for those few that do I guess I will post something.  Not much goes on from Jayden's birthday until you hit Easter.  I know that is sad but what is there to do when it snows or rains all the time.  We have had a couple really nice days outside but when that happens we hurry and play outside and I never have my camera with me.

Payton got his tonsils out the end of January I believe and then we had our first set of stitches on February 20th.  Payton jumped out of his crib onto a dinosaur toy and busted open his chin to his cheek and that required 25+ stitches.  He had a huge hole in his face and the doctor could put his finger inside of it and touch his jaw bone (NASTY).  After 4 hours in the ER and one rough doctor we were done with traumatizing him for the day and were on our way home.

On the topic of Payton he started swim lesson (or survival if you fall in the pool rather) in March and doesn't like to go underwater at all.  He is getting so big and talks so well I forget sometimes that he is only 2 1/2.  He can be a turd, he and Madyson can't play together without fighting it drives me crazy and has stopped napping for me so that doesn't help either!

Madyson just started soccer and plays with Ethan and Chloe on her team.  She has 3 other boys (Keston, Carter and Devin) on her team and they all have so much fun together.  She is so cute playing but isn't very aggressive, although she is good at kicking the ball because she is pigeon toed so that helps.  She is still so tiny she is 4 1/2 and weighs only 29-30 pounds on a good day.  She also learned in January how to write her name, I was so proud!!

Jayden is doing pretty good he is in preschool still at the elementary school and is loving it and can't wait for kindergarten.  He is starting baseball in May and is a little worried about not being good.  He isn't very athletic so it should be interesting to see how he does.  He had to get 2 teeth pulled in March from sucking his thumb which he no longer does!!!!  I couldn't be happier and he also stopped peeing the bed at night!!  Our next goals are tying shoes and riding a bike without training wheels.  Jayden lost his best friend to Wyoming in February and has been sad about it since but we hope to take a road trip in the summer to see Ya-Ya, Tana and Landon.

That's about all that has happened and I hope to have more go on coming up.  We will be having an Easter egg hunt on Friday and Easter on Sunday so that will have a post, and then it should be SUMMER pretty quick!!!!!

Jayden turned 5, WHAT?!

That's right my baby boy (okay not really, but my first born) turned 5 on the 5th of January (his golden birthday).  He celebrated with his friends the day before at Classic Skate where they got to climb, jump, swing and play in a place called Pirates Cove, I actually got to try it out because some of the kids were a little scared, so I helped them go down the slide and it was so much fun!  After they played we did cake and let him open his gifts.  He got some pretty cool stuff and he loved having all his friends there to celebrate with him.  On wednesday (his birthday) I took treats to his school, and then when he got home from school we headed to the airport to pick up Uncle Jed from his mission.  We all went to lunch after that and the kids had a great time being with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Jed and Uncle Jared.  When we made it home that night he got to open his presents from his Grandparents.  He got spoiled and loves his toys especially his leapster 2.  Thanks everyone who made his golden birthday very special.

He was so excited to have everyone sing to him!

CHRISTMAS!!!!

We had such a great Christmas this year.  It was just my little family of 5 and I made my first holiday dinner ever, and I must say it was so delicious.  The kids didn't wake up until about 8 which was really nice and then we let them come down and see what  Santa had brought for them.  They looked through there stockings first and then got to go to town opening presents left and right.  They loved all of the gifts they were given and we are so grateful to have great families that help make a great Christmas happen every year.  After cleaning up and putting toys in there new places it was time for me to start my dinner.  I made a ham (with my own glaze, so yummy), homemade mac n cheese, rolls, pomegranate salad and sparkling cider.  Of course my kids ate nothing but James and I enjoyed our meal together.  We just laid around the rest of the day enjoying our company and playing with toys.  We did go to James' parents on Christmas eve and just hung around there for part of the day and then came home to make Santa's cookies.

Santa again and a family picture by the tree (if you click on the picture you can see the picture bigger)

The stockings Santa filled, Santa's cookies before and after he came and the kids waiting to come see what was left for them.

My dinner, and some pictures of the kids opening presents

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

December 2010

Since I have been way lacking in the motivation department I finally thought I better just sit down and do December, Christmas and Jayden's birthday all today.  Our December seemed very full and also seems like it went by really fast.  We went to Ogden's Christmas Village this year  for the first time and saw Santa again (we saw him at RC Willey earlier in December) and walked around looking at all the little houses and lights.  We didn't quite see them al since it was raining and I totally forgot to bring gloves for any of us.  We went with the Lingwall's and the Gill's, and besides being frozen we had a good time.  Jayden found every puddle o=possible and I just let him jump in every one of them and get completely soaked.  I didn't take a ton of pictures but here are some of them.
