I realize most people (if anyone reads this blog) won't be interested in all the details of this post, but I found it really helpful to be able to look back at what was happening when I was going through this with Payton and wished I'd had it with Madison and Jayden too. So sorry this is mostly for me.
I woke up Sunday Jan. 22 at like 6:30 with some contractions. I got up, went to the bathroom and went back to bed. I was in and out of sleep feeling contractions every so often and finally woke up at 8:20 because we needed to get ready for 9 o'clock church. I got up and helped Madyson gets dressed and was still having some contractions. After her hair was done I helped Jayden and did the boys hair. As I was trying to get dressed I was having them a little more regular, like every 4 minutes. They were uncomfortable but nothing I couldn't handle. I made it to church about 15 minutes late and was having still having them through the first hour. It was worse to sit with them so I walked the halls for the next hour. They seemed to be slowing a little so I went and listened for the last hour of church and only had about 5 that hour.
When we got home I decided I should lay down and probably call the hospital to see what they thought I should do considering I usually dilated fast and early. They of course said to come on in. After a little struggle on what to do with the kids we were able to get a babysitter to come over. I felt bad because it was a Sunday but we needed the help. We got to the hospital around 1:30 and got checked in. At that point they had slowed to 4 an hour. They put the monitors on and a contraction showed up almost within a minute! After an hour and a half the nurse came in and said my doctor wasn't available to talk to so she had called another at the same office for his advice. He told her to give me terbutaline (shot to stop contractions) and then see how I was doing after that. She gave me the medicine and then checked my cervix. I was dilated to 1 cm which isn't bad but I shouldn't be starting to dilate this early either, considering how fast I usually progress. The medicine kicked in and almost instantly made me feel like CRAP. It's truly the worst. She brought by discharge paper after seeing I had only one contraction in a hour after the medicine and we were home by 5:30.
I knew going up to the hospital we wouldn't be having Decklan that day but wanting to make sure the contractions didn't make me progress too far. I have a Dr. app on Wednesday and we will discuss getting the steroids to try to mature his lungs and maybe a stress test to see if I will deliver in the next 2 weeks. If we can get him to stay until 35 weeks (Feb. 8th) I will be happy , anything after that is just icing on the cake!

Once there was a Snowman
On Saturday we woke up to quite a bit of snow and since it hasn't snowed a good amount up until then the kids were anxious to get out and build a snowman, make snow angels, throw snowballs, and most of all eat the snow! We got them all geared up and headed out. James helped them roll the snowballs for the bottom, middle and top of the snowman and then put them all together. We tried to round out and shape him so he looked nice. We then got out the snowman kit we have that has wooden eyes, carrot nose, coal smile, buttons, a nice fleece scarf, and a felt top hat. Jayden and James found some great branches for his arms and then the kids took pictures with him. It's a good thing we got some pictures because later that day from the sun and the fact that our snowman was front heavy, he fell apart :( But we had fun with him before that time came and will have to make another one when we get some more snow. It was so nice to have all of us out there together doing something fun especially before the baby comes!

I have a 6 year old!
Jayden turned six on January 5th. He wanted a big party but since we did one last year I decided that he could invite a couple friends to a movie and come back here for cake. We went and saw Puss in Boots and the boys all loved it. And as requested by Jayden, I made a vampire cake. Not sure why he desperately wanted a vampire cake but I did my best and he seemed to love it.
